VERITEST® 4.4

WIRE AND CABLE INSPECTION

Veritest4.4

UL 1581 March 6, 1987

900.14 For the factory production continuity testing of a wire, the manufacturer may elect to substitute either of the following for the test in paragraph 900.13: (1) a continuous eddy current procedure complying with paragraphs 900.15 and 900.16 or (2) a continuous differential capacitive current procedure complying with paragraph 900.17.

The VERITEST® 4.4 is a basic eddy current flaw detector which is designed for continuous production testing of wire and tubular products. Typical defect detection includes laps, slivers, cracks, pits, and weld line faults in both magnetic and nonmagnetic materials.

The unit is also very effective in finding butt weld conditions and continuity variations on single and multi-conductor insulated wire and cable.

The VERITEST® 4.4 is typically installed on headers in the fastener industry, on recoilers on copper redraw operations, and on plastic extruding installations for electric wire manufacturers. When used on headers, they can detect hard areas which may cause breakage of punches, dies, and cutters.
